Since a few years, my wife partcipate into the "Global Jam Service", a Jam where you have to prototype a innovative service in 48h. Last year I decided to also participate, seeing this as a way to learn new methodologies, while having fun.
In February 2016 I attended the Jam in Orlean. This was a great moment. From the theme discovery (the sound of something falling into water), to the creative brainstorming that followed, where everything was allowed (falling into water = disappearing, leading to my proposition of a uber-like hitman company), the pitch, and the following "ideation", the work to present a complete service, including the business model. Those were great moment, with a lot of participant coming from very different spaces. I thus contributed to the creation of the (non-existent) Exi(s)t company, a company to help YOU disappear.
This year the university of Marne-la-Vallée decided to create a local Jam. Being during the French Holidays, there was not as much people as there could have been, but during the weekend, 21 persons participated. As the previous year this was a really fun and creative moment. This year theme (the phrase "Hello ? lo ? o? o.") lead to a really interesting set of sub-theme from this one (echo. wave, sonar, but also communication, discovery of other peoples...) and a brainstorming session that was really playful. So this year i participated in the creation of the "Love Shooting Machine", a machine to publicly declare your love to someone :)
While I'm not a creative type person, i really enjoyed this moment with others participants.
See you next year, guys !
Update : there is a small rex (in french) on the d-school site (The D-School was kind enough to lend their office for part of the jam...)

Update 2 : we found a few month after the event that such companies exist in Japan. They are known as "Yonige-Ya" ("Fly-by-Night shops") and help people disappear. We could not found such information / companies during our brainstorming, even when searching about "Johatsu" (evaporated people). So our idea is, alas, not so as disruptive as we thought...
